Manchester City Fans are reportedly plotting a shock transfer swoop for ex-United striker Romelu Lukaku as Pep Guardiola eyes a ‘£200m squad overhaul’

The Citizens are expected to be in the market for a new striker at the end of the 2020-21 campaign, with the club’s all-time leading goalscorer Sergio Aguero potentially leaving on a free transfer.

According to The Telegraph, City are prepared to spend £200m in the summer window to improve their squad, and Lukaku has been identified as a potential target in the final third of the field.

Dortmund striker Erling Haaland and Benfica forward Darwin Nunez are also said to be the top targets as long-term successors to Aguero.

Whether Aguero stays or goes, the report claims City will sign a new striker regardless.
