Manchester City are in the running to sign FC Porto’s young talent Cardoso Varela, who has been impressing with his performances in the UEFA Youth League. The 15-year-old is set to have several transfer options before the upcoming season, with City Football Academy being a potential destination for the starlet, who is currently out of contract.
City Football Academy has a track record of developing successful players, with the likes of Phil Foden and Cole Palmer making significant contributions to Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad. The academy has also attracted global talent, such as Claudio Echeverri from River Plate and US prodigy Cavan Sullivan. Manchester City recently won the FA Youth Cup with their Under-18 team.
Manchester City faces competition from several top European clubs, including PSG, Inter Milan, and Bayern Munich, in the race to sign Varela. City has reportedly made a concrete offer to the young forward, who is set to become a free agent in June. The situation with Varela’s contract at FC Porto remains uncertain as the summer transfer window approaches.
