According to ESPN, Liverpool have emerged as a potential competitor for his signature, with the Premier League champions still threadbare in defence following injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

Barcelona, however, still believe they lead the pack when it comes to signing Garcia, who is reportely determined to return to his hometown club, which he left to join City’s youth ranks in 2017,

Garcia’s representatives are in constant contact with Barcelona to try and work towards an agreement, and the Catalan club will continue to push for a deal until the end of the winter window.
