Manchester City fans are so desperate to see the club make a move for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.
The Citizens have been linked with the prolific striker in recent weeks, potentially as a replacement for Sergio Aguero, with the Argentine star approaching the end of his career.
Known for his blistering pace and an eye for goal, the 20-year-old is one of the most in-form forwards in world football with a host of clubs believed to be interested in signing him next year.
Earlier reports from Germany had claimed that Haaland has a release clause in his contract worth €70m that will become active in the summer of 2022.
The Norwegian’s agent Mino Raiola had introduced a clause which states that from the end of the second season (2021), he could leave the club for €75M.
It seems clear that Dortmund are desperate to keep hold of Haaland, but if his release clause stays in place then there is not much they can do if a side such as City decides to pay it.
Given City’s struggles in attack this season, supporters believe the Norway international would be the perfect replacement for Sergio Aguero who is entering the final year of his City contract.
The Leeds-born forward is a natural goalscorer and would surely go some way towards replacing the goals of Sergio Aguero.
