‘If they get him, we’re done’ – Fans reacts as Liverpool ‘actively trying to sign’ Man City defensive target

Man City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims Liverpool are pushing hard to try and beat the Citizens to the signature of Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Citizens have been trying to sign Koulibaly for much of the transfer window. It’s been a hard fight, with the Serie A club’s president wanting a huge fee and being unrealistic regarding his prospects of getting it.

According to Le Parisien, the Senegalese international wants to join the Citizens and has already reached a provisional contract agreement with Pep Guardiola’s club.

The reports however claims Liverpool are actively trying to convince the 29-year-old of a move via their attacking talent and his compatriot Sadio Mané.

The Telegraph early this week reported that the French champions have move ahead of City in the race for the Senegal international. But Le Parisien reaffirm PSG do not have the funds for Kalidou Koulibaly and are not in the race to sign a player who Napoli are asking €70m to €80m for.

Guardiola and co are in the driving seat if Liverpool really are looking to rival them for Koulibaly. Whether they’d pay a fee close to £70 million remains to be seen.
