Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports to yet another update on the Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly’s potential move to the Etihad.
Despite the £41m capture of Ake from Bournemouth already this summer, defenders remain the priority but deals for both a left-back and a second centre half – most likely Napoli‘s Koulibaly – are still some way off.
The Sunday Mirror via Daily Express earlier this week reported that City have ruled themselves out of making a move for Kalidou Koulibaly as they cannot justify paying £90million.
According to the latest claims from Italy by TVDelloSport, the 29-year-old is ‘heading towards the exit door’, with some outlets claiming a replacement has already been identified by the Serie A club in the form of Lille central defender Gabriel.
A separate claim from Corriere Dello Sport, as relayed by SSCNapoliNews, suggests that while Manchester City have ‘shown the greatest interest’ in the player ahead of United, Liverpool and PSG, Napoli president does not intend to ‘make discounts’ and continues to value his star man at €90 million.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City xtra and City Chief, Manchester City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

Diego Carlos and ruben dias are younger and cheaper . Its obvious Koulibaly doesnt want to leave Napoli and play at a high level.— A Cityzen that breaths blue (@GhodbaneHani1) August 11, 2020
Good lets go for Carlos— LN (@northmcfc) August 11, 2020
If Pep wants him we should pay— Graham Senior (@citydoc56) August 11, 2020
I think our 2nd option is diego carlos and sevilla said anyone wants him must pay. The 75 m release clause so 90 m euros converted to pounds will be 80 m pounds so 5 m extra so go for it citeh— hashem (@hashem69543373) August 11, 2020
I’d still like the signing but have said before I can’t see it happening just because he’s coming from Napoli. De Laurentiis drives a hard bargain and we don’t like to give it to clubs every move. It never works and never will.— City Fan (@ManCity_FanView) August 11, 2020
