Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that the Citizens look set to beat Manchester United for Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
The 29-year-old is considered one of the world’s best centre-backs and has attracted plenty of interest from around Europe. The likes of Manchester united, Real Madrid, PSG and Liverpool have been linked, though City are favourites to sign him.
The Citizens recently completed the signing of Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake but are believed to still be interested in Koulibaly to finally bring in the leadership skills City lost when Vincent Kompany left the club.
According to Tvdellosport journalist Alfredo Pedullà, City have offered €63 million plus bonuses to Napoli for the Senegalese defender which is very close to their reported €70m asking price.
The report states that Manchester United have not made a bid at all. It’s possible they are holding out to the last moment as Napoli will sell Koulibaly to the highest bidder.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City xtra and City Chief, Manchester City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

If we want him that bad… just pay the 7 and be done with it. Better to have him with Pep sooner than later if this is what we gonna do after 2 months of Bs back n forth— D. Clark (@D_Clark19) August 11, 2020
On Messi’s best day, yeah any cb would struggle !!
But look back at those goals mate !!
That Messi first , when messi comes comes in beating 2 Napoli players, he positions himself really really bad & makes it really easy for Messi.
Koulibaly got beat when messi beat the other 2.— Casey (@SCaseyy23) August 11, 2020
A deal is sounding much closer – and sounds like Napoli now need to get some in money quick, so City has some leverage.
Whether he is worth €60-70M, will have to leave that up to Pep & Txiki’s judgement…#ManCity— TrueBlue c.72 (@TrueBlueSince72) August 11, 2020
