Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that the Citizens are eyeing up a cut-price deal for Nathan Ake after Bournemouth were relegated from the Premier League.

With the future of  both Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones in doubt and the failure to replace Vincent Kompany, Pep Guardiola therefore is in need a dependable partner for Laporte.

City have been heavily linked with a move for many defenders like José Giménez, Upamecano, Milan Skriniar, Diego Carlos and Kalidou Koulibaly in recent weeks, with Nathan Aké one of the latest names to add to the list.

The Dutchman was watched by City before the winter transfer window, but no advances were made at the time.

The Athletic reported last week that City have stepped up their efforts to sign Ake with Guardian suggesting he will complete a £35m move to the blue side of Manchester once the season is completed.

According to Daily Mail, Manchester City are waiting to see if Bournemouth’s valuation of Nathan Ake has changed now they have dropped out of the Premier League, having made an initial approach for the 25-year-old Dutchman.

The Premier League rrunners-up is reportedly to have held talks with the Cherries last week over Dutch star, who is currently valued at around £40million.

Ake has become one of the best defenders in the Premier League since joining Bournemouth. He is versatile, solid in the air, and quick.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief and Man City Xtra, City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions with many excited as they believe he will be the perfect backup for Laporte.
