Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly facing interest from rival Arsenal in the summer transfer window, particularly for rising Brazil international full-back Yan Couto. Couto has impressed while playing for Girona in La Liga, earning himself a debut for the Brazil national team.
While Couto’s City Football Group teammate Savio is expected to join Manchester City for pre-season, there are reports suggesting that Couto could be open to a permanent exit with a potential valuation of £40 million. Arsenal, among other clubs including Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus, have been mentioned as potential suitors for the talented right-back.
Arsenal’s chief scout Paulo Xavier has reportedly instructed the club to seriously consider a summer move for Yan Couto as they look to strengthen their right-back position. With Couto yet to make a first-team appearance for Manchester City, the Gunners see him as a player who could provide the necessary cover following his impressive spell at Girona in La Liga. Only time will tell if Arsenal follow through with a concrete approach for the young Brazilian talent.
