Manchester City is adamant about not selling midfielder Bernardo Silva to Arsenal or any other Premier League club. While there have been reports of interest from various European teams, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich, journalist Fabrizio Romano has stated that City does not want Silva playing for a direct rival in the league. The player has a release clause of £50m, but City is pushing for a move abroad if Silva decides to leave this summer.
There is significant interest from Barcelona in signing Silva, with reports suggesting that the player has been in talks with Joao Felix about a potential move to the Spanish club. The decision to sell will ultimately rest with the player himself, as City does not have much control over which team Silva joins as long as the buyout fee is met. It is believed that Silva is looking for a new challenge abroad, making a transfer to Arsenal unlikely.
Silva remains a crucial part of Manchester City’s squad, evident from his performance in the FA Cup semi-final where he scored the winning goal against Chelsea. With 11 goals and 5 assists in 42 appearances this season, his departure would leave a significant gap in Pep Guardiola’s team. Despite interest from various clubs, it is expected that Silva will look for a move abroad if he decides to leave City in the upcoming transfer window.
