Arsenal legend Ian Wright acknowledges that it will be difficult for his former club to catch up to Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table. City’s recent win has put them two points ahead after both Arsenal and Liverpool lost their home games over the weekend.
City has a track record of being strong frontrunners and managers like Pep Guardiola are confident in the team’s ability to handle pressure and remain focused for the remaining six games of the season. Guardiola believes his players will compete until the end and is not discounting the possibility of being Premier League champions.
City will not be playing in the league until April 24th after the FA Cup semi-final this weekend, giving Arsenal and Liverpool a chance to potentially overtake them in points. While Guardiola remains confident in his team’s abilities, there is a chance that they may fall to third place in the league standings depending on the outcome of upcoming matches.
