Officials from Manchester City have reportedly reached out to the agent of promising Las Palmas defender Mika Marmol. This move showcases the Premier League champions’ commitment to recruiting top young talents globally, with an eye towards future profit and development within the City Football Group.

This news follows Manchester City’s recent agreement with ESTAC Troyes for the transfer of Brazilian winger Savio, who has been impressing while on loan at Girona. The Catalan club, currently excelling in La Liga, could now be involved in a potential transfer deal with Manchester City for a highly-rated defender from the Spanish league.

According to reports from Spanish outlets Marca and Football Espana, City has contacted Marmol’s agent, Jose Maria Orobitg, to inquire about the player’s plans and Las Palmas’ asking price for the 22-year-old. If Marmol does make the move to Manchester City or another club, Las Palmas may request a loan back for the player next season.

Marmol, who came up through Barcelona’s youth academy before joining Las Palmas, could potentially be sent out on loan to Girona by Manchester City for the upcoming season. This move would align with Girona’s pursuit of European football, following their successful campaign.

Girona may also look to retain other talented players from Manchester City, such as Brazilian full-back Yan Couto, in a bid to strengthen their squad. Overall, Manchester City’s interest in Marmol and potential collaboration with Girona highlights their ongoing strategy to secure and nurture top talents in the football world.
