Reports suggest that Manchester City are gearing up for a summer move for Fenerbahce full-back Ferdi Kadıoğlu.

Pep Guardiola and Manchester City may be looking to bolster their defense in the upcoming summer transfer window for the 2024/25 season, as uncertainty surrounds the future of left-back Sergio Gomez.

Gomez, who joined Manchester City in August 2022 from RSC Anderlecht, has only started four games this season and made 12 appearances in all competitions.

Rumors suggest that Gomez could leave Manchester City at the end of the season, with interest from clubs like Burnley and Galatasaray.

If Gomez departs, Manchester City could turn to Turkish international Ferdi Kadıoğlu as a replacement. Kadıoğlu, who was born in the Netherlands but pledged his international allegiance to Turkey in 2022, has been a key player for Fenerbahce in their battle for the Turkish top-flight title.

Recent reports indicate that Manchester City is eyeing Kadıoğlu as a potential transfer target. Sport Witness has relayed claims from Turkey that Guardiola’s side is considering making a move for the left-back.

Further developments are expected regarding Manchester City’s pursuit of Kadıoğlu, who is out of contract in 2026. Fenerbahce is reportedly seeking €25 million for the 24-year-old, who is considered ‘indispensable’ to the club.

Manchester City is also anticipated to sell at least one full-back this summer, with Joao Cancelo likely to leave permanently after loan spells at Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Cancelo, a Portugal international, has not played competitively for Manchester City since a rumored training ground incident in January 2023.
