Manchester City’s Jack Grealish has had discussions with England manager Gareth Southgate regarding his place in the squad for the upcoming European Championships.

The City forward has faced challenges this season following the club’s Treble success last season, with his form not improving in the early part of 2024 due to injury and limited playing time.

Grealish recently suffered groin injuries in games against FC Copenhagen and Luton Town, playing less than 45 minutes in both matches combined.

However, with a focus now on his recovery during the recent break, Grealish could potentially return to last season’s form and play a crucial role in Pep Guardiola’s system.

After England’s 2-2 draw with Belgium, Southgate revealed that he had spoken with Grealish before the break and confirmed that the City forward is still in contention for a spot in the Euros squad.

“Jack (Grealish) is definitely not ruled out. I spoke to him before selecting the squad,” Southgate said, highlighting that Grealish was back in training but not yet ready to compete physically for the recent games.

Manchester City will face Arsenal in the Premier League, as well as Chelsea in the FA Cup and Real Madrid in the Champions League in April.

The FA Cup semifinal will see City take on Chelsea, while a Champions League quarterfinal clash awaits against Real Madrid, with the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.
