Many football analysts and experts are expecting Manchester City to come out on top in their match against Arsenal. The reigning Premier League champions have been in great form and have a strong squad that is capable of dominating their opponents.

The two teams meet this Sunday at the Etihad Stadium, and there is huge pressure on the clash, particularly for the Gunners given their tricky run-in. Then again, City can hardly afford to fall four points behind at this stage of the season, especially with Liverpool also a point ahead of them at this stage.

Ahead of the mouth-watering title six-pointer, pundits have been submitting their predictions, and former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp believes City will come out on top with a 2-1 win, telling BetVictor: “What a game this is. It’s usually around this point of the season that Manchester City really turn it on and go up a gear, can they do that this year? A win here, and I think they’re the team to beat once again.

“As for Arsenal, it’s all been building towards this game. The form recently has been just fantastic, so many goals, so many lads playing well. That being said, they were in a similar spot last season, and they couldn’t get the job done in the games against City. Do this side have the belief that they can go to City and get the job done?

“I just don’t know if I’m ready to trust this Arsenal side. City and Pep Guardiola just know how to win these big games, they’ve been doing it for years. The crowd will be up for it, the big players will be up for it, and I think they’ll get the win. Who knows though, I can’t wait.”

Former Arsenal man Paul Merson is more confident in Arsenal, backing a 1-1 draw in his SportsKeeda predictions. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves – the Gunners are still well behind City in terms of overall quality, because it is scary how good Pep Guardiola’s side can be when they are on song,” he said. “They’ve won 19 and drawn three since last tasting defeat against Aston Villa in December. That’s what Arsenal are up against.

“I know plenty of people fancy Arsenal to finally go to the Etihad and get a great result, but a fully fit City are about as tough as they come. If you’re a Liverpool fan, you’d want Arsenal to win this one, because City’s fixtures get ridiculously favourable after this match. I think they’ll go on and win another treble if they beat the Gunners this weekend.

“This is the match of the weekend. The goal difference between the two sides is massive right now. If Arsenal win this game, they go four points clear of City and with that goal difference, it could prove to be decisive in the title race. Both teams are evenly matched at the moment, however, and we could see a draw in this match.”

As for Ian Wright, he believes Arsenal have what it takes to win at the Etihad. He added on The Overlap: “We’re going to beat them. You know why I’m saying that? Because we have to beat them.

“Why should I not think we can win when we’ve got a great defensive record and we’re scoring goals? Why should I now go negative on our chances? I think Arsenal will win. We have to beat them, we have to go for it.”
