Pep Guardiola and his coaching staff are anxiously awaiting updates on Kyle Walker’s fitness and injury sustained during his match with England against Brazil on Saturday.
Manchester City’s upcoming Premier League match against Arsenal is fast approaching, and the club is hopeful that their 16 players on international duty will return unscathed.
Unfortunately, City has already encountered their first major issue as club captain Kyle Walker was forced off the field during the match at Wembley Stadium.
Despite initially taking on the role of England captain in the absence of Harry Kane, Walker had to leave the field within the first 20 minutes due to a reported hamstring issue in his left leg.
City will be anxiously monitoring the ongoing international matches as they prepare for a busy April schedule, which includes key fixtures against Arsenal, Chelsea, and Real Madrid.
It is unclear at this time how severe Walker’s injury is and whether he will be available for the upcoming match against Arsenal.
Pep Guardiola is set to address the media in his pre-Arsenal press conference next Friday, but updates on Walker’s injury may come sooner from England boss Gareth Southgate and the Football Association.
The match against Arsenal is just the first of many crucial games for City in April, with important clashes in the FA Cup and Champions League also on the horizon.
The Premier League fixtures in April will also pose a challenge for Guardiola and his squad, with tough away matches against Crystal Palace, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Nottingham Forest.
