In an interview with ESPN Brasil and relayed by ESPN, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed his plans for the future when his time at the Etihad Stadium comes to an end.

As one of the most successful coaches in the world, Guardiola has his sights set on international management, expressing his desire to compete for honors at the FIFA World Cup or a European Championship with a national team.

The legendary Catalan coach has enjoyed a period of unparalleled success with Manchester City, winning every possible honor, including the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League.

His recent triumphs with City, culminating in last season’s Treble success, have solidified his status as one of the greatest coaches in the modern era.

Despite his outstanding success at the club level, Guardiola sees his future in international management. When asked about his aspirations beyond club football, Guardiola stated, “I would like to train a national team for a World Cup or a European Championship. I would like that.”

However, he remained coy about which country he would prefer to manage, acknowledging that the opportunity to lead a national team would ultimately depend on whether they want him.

“I don’t know who would want me! To work for a national team they have to want you, just like a club.”

“I would like to have the experience of living through a World Cup, or a Euro or a Copa America, or whatever it is. I would like that.

“I don’t know when that would be, if that is five, 10, 15 years from now but I would like to have the experience of being a manager in a World Cup.”

Guardiola’s revelation offers insight into his long-term ambitions and provides an indication of where his career might take him after his tenure at Manchester City.

As Guardiola’s future plans come to light, the focus for Manchester City will undoubtedly be on persuading him to extend his stay with the club.

With the landmark of a decade in charge of the club just two seasons away, City fans and management will be hoping to keep the legendary coach at the helm for years to come.
