It has been reported that Manchester City is set to sign France under-20 international forward Alexis Tibidi on a loan deal until the end of the current season.
Initially starting his career with French clubs ESA Brive and Toulouse, Tibidi signed his first professional contract with Stuttgart in 2021. He then joined Rheindorf Altach in Austria on loan for the 2022/23 season. In January 2023, Tibidi signed a contract with City Football Group’s Troyes, which was valid until the summer of 2027. However, his move away from the French side has not gone as planned, leading to his move to Manchester City.
According to reports from RMC Sport, Tibidi failed to gain any minutes on loan at NEC Nijmegen in Holland during the first half of the season. As a result, the idea is for the player to join Manchester City on a loan agreement until the end of the current season, playing with the under-23 squad at the Etihad Stadium. Additionally, he may sometimes train with Pep Guardiola’s squad over the next six months, providing an opportunity to impress the best in the business.
This move comes as Manchester City is in need of fresh talent in their Elite Development Squad this season. With the team currently at the bottom of the Premier League 2 division, having only won one game, drawn three, and lost seven matches so far, the addition of Tibidi will be welcomed.
The signing of Tibidi on a loan deal is expected to provide much-needed support for the club’s young talents and provide a potential boost to their performance in the league. Manchester City will be looking to capitalize on this opportunity to integrate Tibidi into their squad and improve their standing in the division. It remains to be seen how Tibidi will perform and whether he will be able to make a positive impact during his loan spell with the club.
