Pep Guardiola has responded after the Manchester City boss was involved in a heated discussion with Liverpool star Darwin Nunez.
Liverpool held City to a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, with Erling Haaland’s opener cancelled out by Trent Alexander-Arnold’s strike.
The home team also had a goal disallowed by VAR after Manuel Akanji was found to have fouled Alisson Becker before Ruben Dias poked home from a corner.
As the final whistle blew, City manager Guardiola was seen getting into a heated argument with Liverpool striker Nunez.
Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders kept Guardiola away as Reds boss Jurgen Klopp dragged Nunez away from the scene.
Speaking after the match, Guardiola was asked to comment on the incident.
He simply replied: “Nothing happened. He is stronger than me! There is no problem.”
Klopp was also asked for his reaction to the incident during his post-match interview, the German replied: “I’m not the one to explain because I wasn’t involved surprisingly!”
“I love them both and I was just trying to keep them apart. I didn’t understand a word but it’s emotion. That’s all. Pep wants to win, we want to win.”
The result sees City retain top spot and Liverpool stay in second place. The draw also means Arsenal could move top with a victory on Saturday evening over Brentford.
