Erik ten Hag wanted his Manchester United squad to learn the hard way after losing 3-0 to Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday.
United were well beaten by their rivals, with Erling Haaland netting twice to extend his lead at the top of the scoring charts.
It was not only the final result that alarmed Man United fans, but the nature in which it was achieved, with City running rampant in the second half of the game.
Manchester United’s stars were given a remarkable punishment by manager Erik ten Hag after the game.
According to The Sun, the Dutchman ordered his Manchester United players to sit and listen to the Manchester City squad’s celebrations in the away dressing room at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag also wanted his players to hear the Manchester City fans celebrating in the away end.
Ten Hag is also said to have promised his players a bonus day off on Monday had they managed to beat Manchester City.
Ten Hag is giving his Man Utd stars what is being branded as “extra homework”, including personalised videos that “show where they went wrong” against City.
