Manchester City are monitoring Dani Olmo closely, however RB Leipzig are not willing to sell and it is expected that they will ask for a ‘very high’.
Earlier this summer, there was a big worry over at RB Leipzig that Dani Olmo would have to be sold if he didn’t renew his contract.
In the end, the Spaniard did sign a new deal however, following news of Kevin De Bruyne’s long-term hamstring injury, Manchester City are now widely expected to re-enter the transfer market for the attacking midfielder.
According to the information of Gianluca Di Marzio, Pep Guardiola’s dream replacement for Kevin De Bruyne is RB Leipzig’s Spanish international attacking midfielder Dani Olmo.
It’s said that Pep Guardiola wants to bring his compatriot to Manchester City, and the club are ‘trying to understand the feasibility of the transfer’.
The Bundesliga side, very understandably, have ‘no intention of selling the player’, especially after he showed his class by scoring a hat-trick against Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup not too long ago.
He does have a release clause in his contract of €55m, but that isn’t active until next year, meaning the Leipzig have room to negotiate this summer, and it’s believed they could ask for as much as €80-100m for him.
Despite the high figures being mentioned by the report, City’s interest is reaffirmed and suggested that Etihad Stadium officials will still try to negotiate a deal in the coming weeks ahead.
