Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Bayern Munich will negotiate with the club if Kyle Walker gives them his “yes” and will ask for a deal at €15 million plus bonuses.
The 33 year-old has entered the final 12 months of his current contract, and as a result is one of several senior Manchester City players linked with a potential summer exit following the treble triumph.
The England international has been linked with a move to the German club in recent weeks since City brought an end to their treble-winning season.
Now, some fresh behind-the-scenes details have emerged on this particular transfer saga.
According to Florian Plettenberg via Sky Sports Germany, Bayern Munich have made a “very good” offer to Kyle Walker; a two-year contract with the option of another year.
While everything has been negotiated, the problem is the Manchester City defender has not made any promises to the Bundesliga side. Bayern will negotiate with City if Walker gives them his “yes”.
The Bundesliga club will ask for a deal at €15 million plus bonuses, with an agreement considered likely.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
@mateo702521171: “15 for Kyle……..That’s a big joke”
@akash_saha_17: “Selling Kyle Walker for 15 million is an insult to him. There’s no other way of putting that.”
@RicoLewis_ERA: “He may be 33 years old but he’s still one of the best right backs in world football and 15M is a pathetic pricetag for him”
@TheCartel14: “He’s worth more to us next season than 15m”
@Haalandish: “Tf 15M. We would rather him stay for another season and leave for free.”
@Tcaffair: “15m for walker! No thanks – he’s still a unique player.”
@ClaireMulcahy17: “Well given we don’t want to sell, regardless of his age he is still the best RB out there so they will have to pay alot more than that. Rather keep him and let him go for free next year instead”
@AdishG97: “We don’t need to sell him unless kyle has totally taken his mind out of Manchester.”
