Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Barcelona are willing to offer Frenkie de Jong in an attempt to bring Bernardo Silva to Camp Nou during this summer’s transfer window.
The Catalan outfit are said to be firmly in the hunt for Bernardo this summer, with the club determined to win the race for his signature amid interest from a number of Saudi Arabian clubs.
However, Xavi’s side are not in a position to make any big-money acquisitions in the current market due to their financial problems, with their two signings thus far, Ilkay Gundogan and Inigo Martinez, arriving on free transfers.
According to Mirror Online, Barcelona want to sign Silva this summer and it has been suggested that Frenkie de Jong may be on his way to the Etihad in a swap move.
Man City are big admirers of thҽ Dutch international, who is off thҽ back of an excellent season with Barcelona, in which he won his first LaLiga title with thҽ club.
FootballTransfers reports that Man City now hope to use this as leverage to sign De Jong, in a bid to further strengthen their midfield options.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
