Manchester City officials laugh at recent Bayern Munich transfer plans

Manchester City officials have reportedly laughed off suggestions they could be willing to part ways with striker Julian Alvarez this summer,

This comes from Graeme Bailey via 90min_Football, after it was claimed on Tuesday that Bayern Munich were aiming to engineer a temporary move for the £14 million (BBC Sport) man in the event that they are unable to sign Harry Kane.

However, Bayern Munich, with their ambitions of securing Alvarez dashed, have been firmly reminded that there is no possibility of prising the Argentine away from Manchester this summer.

Fabrizio Romano revealed on Tuesday that there is ‘no chance’ that Julian Alvarez even considers any loan deal away from Manchester City in the following campaign.

Now, City officials, in their uncompromising approach, have expressed their satisfaction with Alvarez’s significant impact, squashing any speculation about his summer exit.

That is as per 90Min’s Tom Gott and Graeme Bailey, who state that Manchester City officials have ‘laughed off’ suggestions that they could be willing to part ways with Julian Alvarez this summer, on either a permanent deal or a loan.

It is made clear that Manchester City are ‘delighted’ with Alvarez’s impact at the club since arriving last summer, and as such they will not be entertaining the possibility of losing him this summer, with the player himself also happy at the club.

Furthermore, Julian Alvarez’s own feelings towards his situation at Manchester City were made clear back in March through the signing of a one-year contract extension just 12 months into his existing deal, and 90Min state that there remains a ‘mutual desire’ to continue together.

Whilst Alvarez’s position at City is secured, the potential exodus of both Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez this summer looms ominously.

Silva finds himself in the crosshairs of European heavyweights, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, whereas Mahrez has been attracting significant attention from Saudi Arabian suitors.

In light of the impending reshuffle of their forward line, the Sky Blues remain resolute in their commitment to retaining Alvarez. This determination was echoed well before any interest in Silva and Mahrez surfaced, demonstrating the pivotal role Alvarez is expected to play.

For now City will remain focussed on their own transfer business, and that concerns the signing of Josko Gvardiol, with an ongoing negotiation over a transfer fee currently in place with RB Leipzig.

The expectation from within the club is that the Croatian international will be part of Pep Guardiola’s squad from the start of the new season, whilst doubts over Aymeric Laporte’s future are expected to drag on for a little longer due to a lack of concrete interest in Europe.

In order to secure the services of Gvardiol, City will likely have to stump up a world record transfer fee for a central defender, as the Bundesliga side continue to demand €100 million plus bonuses for their star man at the back.
