Fabrizio Romano has provided an exclusive update on the situation regarding Manchester City attacking midfield star Bernardo Silva.
Silva has two years left on his contract at the Etihad Stadium but the Portugal international has been linked with a move away throughout the last two summers.
Barcelona and PSG have been long-time admirers of the midfielder but in recent weeks, Saudi Arabian clubs have been trying to tempt Silva away from Man City.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Bernardo Silva’s Man City future remains a ‘slow situation’, and not something imminent.
The transfer news expert adds that Saudi clubs are pushing although negotiating with Man City
is not easy as they are insisting on keeping the midfielder, while PSG want Bernardo as a top target too.
City fans will surely hope to see Bernardo Silva stay after his contribution to the team’s incredible success in recent years, while the club have already suffered the blow of losing Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer this summer.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
@Komps4: “Are we getting rid of him or not? This is dragging on too long now. We need to either come out and say Bernardo is staying this season or just get on with a sale. Personally I wouldn’t sell him at all, but this situation isn’t helping anybody.”
@MarkIHarrison: “A slow situation is the exact opposite of what City need. If Bernardo goes, there’s probably not a single player in world football who could replace him. Immediately it would mean that Mahrez would have to stay..”
@MCISalty: “Hope he doesnt leave it last minute though. We’ll need a replacement.”
@MCFC_BRANDO: “Man City need to give Bernado a deadline on his decision icl, If he moves we need to sign at least 2 players.”
@Tim_Citeh: “Bernardo need to decide….we can’t be panic buying players.”
@MacaroniAJ: “Love the man to bits but we need a decision, replacing him will be difficult enough as it is.”
@radhoo12: “He’s not going anywhere. My man has been linked with every big club for 3 summers in a row. Unless people pay up, and do it in time, he will be here next season..”
