Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side want to sign Achraf Hakimi and will not hesitate to pay a huge fee for the Paris Saint-Germain right-back.
City completed a historic treble this past season winning the Premier League, FA Cup and the Champions League. The 2023 UEFA Champions League winner wants to improve their full-back situation this summer.
With Walkҽr said to bҽ mulling ovҽr a movҽ to Bayern Munich, Guardiola could ҽntҽr thҽ markҽt for a right-back, and a potҽntial movҽ for Hakimi has bҽҽn strҽngthҽnҽd following rҽcҽnt rҽvҽlations.
According to Marca, City now want to sign Moroccan superstar Achraf Hakimi as a replacement for Kyle Walker who is linked with a summer exit.
The report claims that Pep Guardiola has requested the club to sign the PSG full-back who has a contract with the club till 2026.
His long-term contract will make any deal difficult but the report claims that Manchester City are willing to splash the cash to sign the player they feel is ‘essential’ for the team Pep Guardiola is building.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
@anthonnyfd: “Hakimi, Gvardiol, Stones, Dias, Ake, Akanji, Walker. What is Pep cooking?”
@abumichaeli: “Not going to happen.”
@MisterCity19: “Don’t get me wrong I would love Hakimi but I don’t really see this happening. I could be wrong of course but something tells me this isn’t true.”
@MxnchesterCity: “Definitely fake news, no big club is going any where near him considering he’s ongoing rape case”
@D7w_MCi_: “He’ll be a Cancelo 2.0. He can’t defend, he’s insane at attacking and overlapping into midfield which will have Pep licking his chops. Overall, unless he works on his defensive side, he’ll leave us exposed but I’m all for it and Walkers pace isn’t easy to replace lol.”
@Lucky35044177: “He would suit a lot the system, still young 24yrs, fast and got various experience and most importantly he played along Haaland and Akanji at Dortmand, please sign him.”
@neycityy: “I don’t care if this is true and i general don’t care why y’all hate it, he’s a terrific football player, it’s not the best choice for our team but he’s still brilliant.”
