Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Barcelona fears Pep Guardiola’s side will improve it’s contract offer to Ilkay Gündogan.
Gundogan has become the top target for FC Barcelona this summer following the snub from Lionel Messi, who signed for Inter Miami.
The Manchester City captain is a sought-after figure in the market as he will become a free agent from July 1.
Barcelona are very much keen on landing the 32-year-old midfielder for a multitude of reasons. The Catalans have even sent a three-year contract offer to the German international and were confident about their chances of signing him up this summer.
But, as per the latest report from journalist Achraf Ben Ayad, Barcelona are fearing that Manchester City’s chances of handing a renewal to Gundogan may be improving, especially after their historic treble triumph.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
@17ace: “As we should.”
@brifothergill: “Hope they do”
@FodenxSZN: “We have to lock him down.”
@SilkyCyrus_74: “Just give him 2 years”
@TGearhardt: “Give him what he wants. Peps first signing needs to stay!”
@moonblue7: “Yah please give him whatever he want and make him stay”
