Riyad Mahrez has spoken out about his Manchester City future amid recent reports linking him with a move away from the club.
City paid £60m to sign the 32-year-old from Leicester City back in the 2018 summer transfer window. Since then, the winger has made 236 appearances for the Manchester club across all competitions, finding the net 78 times and delivering 59 assists in the process.
Even though Mahrez featured in 47 City games last season, the winger was an unused substitute in some of their biggest matches such as their Champions League quarter-finals against Bayern Munich, the final against Inter Milan and the FA Cup final against Manchester United.
That has prompted reports that the 32-year-old could leave this summer in search of more regular football. Earlier this month, it was reported that Saudi Arabia club, Al-Ahli, are looking to make an offer for the winger to take him away from the Etihad Stadium.
With the attacker now among his international squad having brought an end to his treble-winning season with the Citizens, he has spoken out for the first time about what this summer could look like for him.
Speaking on international duty, Mahrez told Algerian media: “I have two years left in Manchester. So far there is nothing. I am concentrating on these two games [for Algeria] and then I will go on vacation.”
These Mahrez’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
