Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have ‘expressed an interest’ in Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard amid uncertainty over the right-back’s long-term future.
Pavard’s future at Bayern has been the subject of recent speculation, with the 27-year-old set to enter the final 12 months of his current contract this summer.
Thomas Tuchel’s side have attempted to open fresh talks, but approaches have been met with resistance as the player is set to weigh up his options at the end of the season.
The Frenchman confirmed this week that there are ‘currently no talks with the club’ as he focuses on his football, and 90min reports that City are among three of Europe’s top teams – along with Manchester United and Real Madrid – who have asked to be kept in the loop regarding any decisions.
It remains to be seen whether Pavard’s agent will be contacted by Man City over a possible summer transfer.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
@5hinigamidaik0: “Please stop. We already have Walker, and not to mention Rico Lewis who’s been exceptional in the RB role.”
@doomsday_jack: “Makes no sense. We need left-footed LB..”
@MCFCnish: “Nothing about this makes sense”
@majidmjayy: “If we get him, that’s the biggest downgrade from walker, Cancelo and Lewis.”
@CitySZN: “He’s actually pretty good but I wonder how much he’d cost and where he’d fit”
@Albyciteh1: “Rb and cb no? We already got that covered”
@Aryan041104: “How are people saying no. He fits perfectly into our current tactic where Pep wants a cb, fb and dm all in one”
@7harry: “Danilo type of signing….”
