‘Love this!’, ‘Would be an excellent signing’ – Man City fans react as Guardiola plots incredible raid for world-renowned Bayern star

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side have Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies on their shortlist and could make a move for him as early as this summer.

One of the problem areas Guardiola’s side is the fullback department, with the club lacking proper depth on the left side of the field.

After the departure of Joao Cancelo, Nathan Ake has been deployed in the left-back position where he has performed reasonably well, but it is not his natural position.

With Bayern Munich expected to make Cancelo’s move to Germany permanent this summer, it has led to Manchester City entering the market for other left-backs in the market, with Davies emerging as the ideal option.

As per Madrid Zone, who cite Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, City have struck up an interest in Bayern’s pacy left wing-back Alphonso Davies.

The Citizens have been tipped to launch an offer for the Canadian, although there is no mention of how much this proposal might be worth.

City believe Davies might be available for transfer later this year if he opts against extending his Bayern terms. His current deal at the Allianz Arena expires in June 2025.
