Manchester City have been named among the English clubs who are looking to try and sign Japanese star Daichi Kamada this summer.

Kamada is set to leave Frankfurt for nothing with his contract expiring. And according to 90Min, Man City are among a host of European big guns set to go after Kamada’s signature.

90Min reports how there is strong interest in the Japanese star from the Premier League, with Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur all also keeping tabs on him ahead of a potential summer move.

Kamada also has admirers further afield as Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and PSG are also ‘keen’ on the 26-year-old.

The 26-year-old is free to discuss terms with the clubs from abroad now, seeing as he is a free agent, and the acquisition of the midfielder could bargain for one of the mentioned clubs.

The 26-year-old could be a direct replacement for Bernardo Silva at Man City should the Portuguese star leave the Etihad in the summer. Kamada can play in all the positions the Portuguese midfielder covers.

Elsewhere, London Evening Standard reports that Manchester City hold long-term interest in Southampton defender Timo Livramento.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a promising start to life at St Mary’s following his move from Chelsea in 2021 but hasn’t set foot on the pitch since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament in April.

It also claims Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice are among the club’s summer targets albeit the Premier League’s 100-plus allegations of financial wrongdoing against the Blues could prove a stumbling block.
