Pep Guardiola has agreed a two-year contract extension with Manchester City, according to reports emerging on Tuesday afternoon.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss contract is up at the end of the season and so there was understandable worry among fans that he could leave in the near future.
But he won’t be walking away anytime soon as there is a confidence that he is set to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium for a third time.
According to the information of the Athletic, Pep Guardiola has now agreed a two-year contract extension.
As per further information from the report, it is revealed that the deal will be structured as an initial one-year deal, with both club and manager holding an option for a further season.
Should Guardiola sign the new deal then he could end up staying at City for nine years, five years longer than he spent as manager of boyhood club Barcelona.
By persuading Guardiola to sign a new contract, City will providing their fans with the closest thing to a guarantee of success that is possible.
In the six years he has been at City so far Guardiola has led his side to four Premier League titles, one FA Cup title, a maiden Champions League final and victories in four League Cup finals.
