Real Madrid are attempting to sign Erling Haaland in just over 18 months, with the Spanish giants hoping to persuade the Manchester City forward to move.
While Real Madrid were linked with a potential move for the Norwegian striker earlier in the year, the rumours ultimately led nowhere.
The 22-year-old superstar left Borussia Dortmund to join Manchester City, and what a move it has turned out to be.
He has taken the Premier League by storm and if the 22-year-old can remain fit, he is expected to break a number of all-time records.
Haaland has scored 23 goals and provided 3 assists in 18 appearances this season across all competitions. 18 of those goals have come in 13 Premier League games.
Frankly, nobody has ever dominated the English top flight immediately after arriving like he has, although, Manchester City still find themselves trailing Arsenal by five points.
One team who were interested in the 22-year-old was Real Madrid, though their priorities lay in signing Kylian Mbappe in the summer.
That move fell through, with the Frenchman deciding to stay with PSG, and by the time they could have moved for Haaland it was too late, which gave those of us still annoyed at Florentino Perez over the whole European Super League thing a good laugh.
However, the Spanish giants are not giving up the chance to sign him in the future and are reportedly eyeing up a move in 2024.
As reported by AS, Real Madrid have their eyes on a potential move for Haaland in 2024. It is believed that a release clause will become active in his Manchester City deal that summer for foreign clubs.
Real are expecting the move to coincide with Karim Benzema’s time at the Bernabeu winding down, with the Ballon d’Or winner deal ending in 2024, when he’ll be 36.
Can Real Madrid sign Haaland in the summer of 2024 from Manchester City?
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
