Manchester City have alleged that their team bus was damaged while leaving Anfield after Sunday’s ill-tempered 1-0 defeat to Liverpool.
According to James Robson in the tweet below, an object was thrown, damaging one of the windows on the bus, as shown in the attached images in Robson’s thread.

City staff heard something hit their bus as it made its way down Anfield Road, with one of the windows cracked as a result.
It was the third time a City vehicle has suffered damage around Anfield, with the high-profile incident in 2018 ahead of a Champions League clash and when staff saw “bottles and stones” thrown at their coach after a defeat in April 2014.
The alleged incident followed Pep Guardiola’s claim that coins were thrown at him from the stands on Sunday, while Liverpool condemned chants by visiting fans about the Hillsborough and Heysel disasters.
There can surely be no excuse for trying to attack the players whilst they travel back from the game, and one has to hope the appropriate action is taken here.
City are expected to pass on concerns regarding Sunday’s game to the relevant football authorities, while Liverpool have vowed to investigate the alleged coin throwing and hand potential lifetime stadium bans to anyone found guilty.
When asked about the coin-throwing incident during his post-match press conference, Guardiola joked that those in question had not been as accurate as during the attack on City’s team bus four years ago.
“Next time they will do it better,” he said. “They didn’t get me. They tried but didn’t get me. They got it on the coach years ago but not this time.”
In relation to the coin throwing, Liverpool added: “We are aware of an incident involving objects being thrown into the technical area at today’s game. This is totally unacceptable behaviour and not the standards of behaviour we expect at Anfield.
“This incident will be fully investigated using CCTV and those found guilty will be punished, including a lifetime ban from Anfield Stadium and a possible football banning order.”
