Manchester City have seen Erling Haaland shine since his summer move from German giants Borussia Dortmund.
Real Madrid missed out on a huge opportunity to sign Erling Haaland this summer from Borussia Dortmund. It is believed that City signed the Norwegian superstar for a transfer fee around €60 million, thanks to a release clause.
That is proving to be the bargain of the season as he has made an incredible start to life in the Premier League.
As reported by the Daily Star, Manchester City are likely to rip up Haaland’s contract and give him a new one – if he continues to plunder goals at such a prolific rate.
Haaland already pockets £375,000 a week at the Etihad but could be in line for a pay rise after just a few months, after his ‘special’ start to life in English football.
The reasons ripping up his existing deal would be a logical step to take is due to a discreet clause in his current contract.
But with this clause existing, Real Madrid would have a route to the prolific youngster in just two years’ time.
That would be a blow to the hopes of Real Madrid to sign him in the summer of 2024 because Manchester City are surely going to have a look at that too.
