Joao Cancelo appeared to take full responsibility for Manchester City’s loss at Liverpool on Sunday.

Mohamed Salah produced a moment of magic to score Liverpool’s match-winner against Manchester City on Sunday.

Salah scored the game’s only goal as he slotted past Ederson in the 76th minute.

Cancelo was left marking Salah one-on-one when goalkeeper Alisson sent a long ball forward with 14 minutes left to play at Anfield.

The City fullback attempted to cut-out the pass forward but missed the ball, allowing Salah to sprint away.

Having been denied by Ederson previously, the Egyptian made no mistake this time around as he brilliantly tucked the ball into the back of the net, handing Liverpool a vital three points.

City were unable to find an equaliser and now sit four points behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League table.

The reverse ended the champions’ unbeaten start to the season as their struggles at Anfield continued. Pep Guardiola ‘s side came into the game in scintillating form, but were undone as Salah proved to be the match winner.

At full-time. Footage looks to show Cancelo embracing Phil Foden after the clash ends and mouthing “my fault”.

Man City’s loss to Liverpool is their first league defeat of the season, having won seven and drawn two of their opening 10 games.

The Blues remain in second place in the table, four points behind league leaders Arsenal.

As for Liverpool, they move to eighth place after picking up their third league win of the campaign.
