Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report the club have joined Tottenham and Chelsea in the race for Inter Milan central defender Milan Skriniar.
The Slovakia international, who is on £90,000 per week (SalarySport) at Inter at the moment, has entered the final year of his contract with the Nerazzurri, who are at risk of losing him on a free transfer in the summer of 2023.
Skriniar will be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January, and he was the subject of interest from numerous clubs in the most recent window.
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur were both linked with a move for the 27-year-old, while Paris Saint-Germain were understood to have shown the strongest interest in signing him.
In addition, a recent report claimed that Real Madrid were also lining up a swoop for Skriniar having already signed Antonio Rudiger as a free agent over the summer.
However, Simone Inzaghi’s side – despite their desperate need for finances – resisted offers for Skriniar, but he could now walk away for nothing at the end of the season.
According to The Sun, Man City have now joined the likes of Spurs, Chelsea and PSG in the race for Skriniar as they seek a high-profile free agent swoop.
The report adds that Pep Guardiola’s side will prioritise the signing of a new midfielder next summer, but they are open to the possibility of signing a new centre-back.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
