Southampton are close to finalising a double deal with Manchester City for young prospects, winger Sam Edozie and full-back Juan Larios.
Southampton, who appointed City’s former head of youth recruitment Joe Shields as their new head of senior recruitment this summer, have already signed two promising prospects from the Etihad club in this window.
Goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu and midfielder Romeo Lavia have quickly established themselves as starters in Ralph Hasenhuttl’s team, but it seems their dealings with City this transfer window may not yet be complete.
According to Adrian Kajumba For Mail online, Samuel Edozie could join Southampton before the summer transfer deadline closes tomorrow. The deal is getting closer to happening.
Saints are said to be hopeful of getting it over the line before Thursday night’s deadline, Edozie only has a year left on his contract and the fee is likely to be around £2 million mark although there are sure to be add ons.
However Edozie might not be the only City starlet moving South, Saints are also said to be in talks with 18 year old Juan Larios, the Spanish left back is another highly rated by Shields and moved to City two years ago from Barcelona U18’s.
It remains to be seen whether Southampton manage to sign both Edozie and Larios from the Premier League champions in the coming hours.
