‘Finally!’, ‘Someone tell Romero that things are getting very cold’ – Man City fans react as club official insists Bernardo Silva will STAY beyond this summer

Barcelona have been repeatedly linked with a move for the Portuguese international, Bernardo Silva despite Manchester City talking the possibility down whenever given the chance to do so.

Pep Guardiola has constantly reiterated his determination to keep Silva at the Etihad Stadium with the former AS Monaco star playing a key role for the Premier League champions.

However, rumors have continued to buzz suggesting the Portuguese international could move to the Camp Nou if Barcelona were able to move Frenkie de Jong on, or even, perhaps, if they could get other player sales.

Having entered the final week of the transfer window, Man City manager Pep Guardiola provided a definitive update on Silva’s future, confirming that the playmaker will be staying at the Etihad Stadium.

But reports from Spain keep insisting that Barça have not given up their pursuit of Silva and still have a plan in place which they could activate to secure his signing from Man City.

Despite the Catalan media insisting Barca still have a chance, Manchester City officials are now continuously denying Silva’s exit.

Manuel Estiarte, who is part of Guardiola’s backroom staff as he is currently Manchester City’s head of player support and protocol, has now joined the list of Citizens representatives ruling out a move for the Portugal international.

“Bernardo plays today and stays at City,” Estiarte told RAC1, relayed by Sport.

These Manuel Estiarte’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
