Paris Saint-Germain are working on a £59.1m deal to sign Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva as the Qatar-owned club seek to strengthen a squad they hope can win a first Champions League title.
The 28-year-old’s future at the Etihad Stadium has been questioned over the last 12 months, with the Portugal international admitting last summer that he was keen to seek pastures new.
The midfielder has been chased by Barcelona all summer despite their financial troubles. City are said to value the Portugal international at £84m, which dissuaded Barcelona.
Even though we are just two weeks away from the end of the ongoing summer transfer window, Barcelona have not given up their hopes of signing Bernardo Silva.
Bernardo Silva keeps on making headlines with the latest update claiming Paris Saint-Germain are keen on the Manchester City midfielder.
According to The Times, Les Parisians are willing to table an offer in the excess of £59.1m($71M) to acquire the Portugal international from the Premier League champions.
Per the report, PSG aim to bolster their ranks in a bid to land the Champions League title for the first time-ever and “are confident that Silva will move to Paris if a fee can be agreed.”
Reports on Wednesday claimed that Bernardo was thinking only about staying at City after accepting a move to Barcelona is now looking unlikely.
However, The Times reckon that PSG are serious contenders for Bernardo and “improved personal terms will not be a problem for the French champions.”
Pep Guardiola has pretty much said he won’t said in Bernardo’s way if he wants to leave, although it’s not clear if Bernardo is interested in heading to Ligue 1.
