Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the Premier League champions are in negotiations to extend Bernardo Silva’s contract.
Even though we are just two weeks away from the end of the ongoing summer transfer window, Barcelona have not given up their hopes of signing Bernardo Silva.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Barcelona during the transfer window but now looks unlikely, according to the latest reports.
The Athletic reported on Wednesday morning that the versatile midfielder is ready to abandon the thought of moving to Xavi’s Barcelona and will commit to City for the coming season.
Luis Rojo later claimed Barcelona’s window to sign Silva has passed as Manchester City believe it is too late to offload the playmaker.
The report comes in the aftermath of earlier rumours that suggested Bernardo Silva might even be open to discussing an extension to his contract, which runs until 2025.
According to the latest information from Journalist Jose Alvarez via El Chiringuito TV, Bernardo Silva is in negotiations with Manchester City over a contract extension.
Pep Guardiola will no doubt be happy a key player is staying after the amount of upheaval this season, as Silva is undoubtedly one of the best midfielders in Europe.
During the 28-year-olds five seasons at the Etihad Stadium, Silva has made 253 appearances, scoring 48 goals and making 50 assists.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
