City have been drawn at home to Chelsea in the third round of the Carabao Cup
In what is arguably the tie of the round, the clash is a repeat of the 2019 final that saw City triumph 4-3 on penalties.
With six Carabao Cup triumphs since 2014, City have dominated the competition in recent times.
Last season, the Blues were knocked out by West Ham United on penalties, bringing an end to a four-year reign as Carabao champions. Liverpool went on to beat Chelsea in the final.
The third round ties will take place the week commencing 7 November and Pep Guardiola’s side will welcome Chelsea to the Etihad Stadium, with one of the pre-tournament favourites set for a very early exit from the competition.
