‘Well deserved’ – Many fans react as Man City ‘prepared’ to make exciting in-house ‘offer’ for Riyad Mahrez

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is set to offer Riyad Mahrez a new contract ahead of the new season.

With Mahrez now entering the final year of his contract, there has been whispers in the media about a potential exit from the club, given that City are continuously looking to sharpen their attack with new recruits.

However, a new report suggests that the club are now negotiating to extend his deal, with Manager Pep Guardiola said to be adamant of the African star to remain in Manchester.

In a recent tweet by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the journalist explains that City are prepared to offer the 31-year-old winger a new contract following the departure of teammates Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus.

The journalist wrote: “Not just Marc Cucurella as main target. Manchester City are prepared to offer Riyad Mahrez a new contract after Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus departures.

“Discussions will take place in the next weeks. Mahrez, in new contracts list at City with Rodri and Foden.”

With the imminent departure of Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling, Mahrez will again play a vital role for the club next season, which should see him guaranteed more game time, should he remain fit.

The report, shared on Twitter by Fabrizio Romano attracted plenty of attention from Many Man City supporters.
