Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Chelsea are set to complete the signing of Raheem Sterling on Thursday.
The 27-year-old star has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium, with the forward concerned about his game time after starting 23 of 38 league games last season.
Sterling, who joined from Liverpool in a £49m deal in 2015 and has scored 131 goals in 339 games, is a major transfer target for new Blues owner Todd Boehly.
It is understood Chelsea are yet to lodge a formal bid for the England international, but one is expected shortly.
As per Ben Jacobs, a deal for the Englishman will be finalised on Thursday, with official confirmation expected in the coming days.
The 27-year-old will cost the Blues an initial £45 million, plus potentially another £10 million in add-ons.
Sterling will leave a club at which he has won 12 trophies, including four Premier League titles, during his seven years there.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“No need to keep players who don’t have their full focus on City, it’s been a lovely 7 seasons but now it’s Palmer and Foden’s chance to get much more game time.”

“It’s time to let him go. If City would have been eager to keep him like how we do to Bernado we would’ve done everything we could. And in some ways he was one of the highest paid players and yet complained while Mahrez, Foden got few game time and never wanted to run away.”

“His heart isn’t in it no more,I doubt he would give the team 100% if he played, so getting £55m now is a lot better than losing him for nothing. Thanks for the memories Raheem..”

“Sterling will leave City with his head held high. One of the best traditional wingers in the world and the most underappreciated. It will be hard to see him in other shades of blue, but it’s what it’s.
Hope for the best luck there, Raheem. Hopefully Chelsea fans will be kind 💙”
