Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the situation of Serge Gnabry, amid rumours of a possible Manchester City move for the Bayern Munich star.
The 26-year-old versatile midfielder is out of contract at the end of next season and contract talks are at an impasse.
That has led the German side to consider letting him go to avoid losing him for nothing next year, with The Sun saying £35 million may be enough.
Manchester City are reportedly prepared to make a move for Gnabry if Raheem Sterling leaves this summer, while Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool have also been credited with showing an interest.
Gnabry had a spell with the Gunners as a youngster, but Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano has moved to cool the recent speculation that the Germany international’s old club are looking to bring him back.
Instead, it seems Man City have taken a close look at Gnabry. That’s according the transfer insider Fabrizio Romano who claims Man City have sent their scouts to monitor Serge Gnabry several times to understand if he could fit Pep Guardiola’s ideas.
Fabrizio Romano also states that a new Bayern contract is still available to the Germany international, but the player has not yet made a decision on his future.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
