Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have begin contract talks with Riyad Mahrez as he enters final 12 months of his contract.
With Mahrez now entering the final year of his contract, there has been whispers in the media about a potential exit from the club, given that City are continuously looking to sharpen their attack with new recruits.
However, a new report suggests that the club are now negotiating to extend his deal, with Manager Pep Guardiola said to be adamant of the African star to remain in Manchester.
According to Jack Gaughan and Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail, Manchester City are looking to extend Riyad Mahrez’s contract after his finest season at the club to date.
Gaughan and Mokbel confirm that there is an expectance that Mahrez will put pen to paper and commit his future at the Etihad after initial discussions and negotiations being positive.
With Jesus heading to the Gunners in a £45 million + deal and Chelsea looking more and more likely to sign Sterling, City are looking to keep the 31-year-old winger beyond 2023.
