Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Chelsea have now accelerated their talks over the potential transfer of Nathan Ake.
The Blues have stepped up their pursuit of Ake amid fears Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt could choose Bayern Munich over a move to Stamford Bridge.
A new report on Thursday night has now revealed that talks between the two relevant parties have reached an advanced stage.
According to the information of The Times newspaper, Chelsea are now in ‘advanced talks’ with Manchester City over a deal to re-sign Nathan Aké.
The report details that talks between the two clubs over a transfer for the Holland centre back have ‘accelerated’ over the past few days.
The Times understand that the Blues have made a breakthrough in their quest for a centre-back, with discussions over the Netherlands international developing in the last few days
If/when this deal goes through and Ake returns to Stamford Bridge, it would mark the second transfer between the two clubs, with them having a breakthrough in the Raheem Sterling deal as well.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“Cool. So we’re just gonna get rid of all our depth to the same team, a title rival? Well done City”

“Ake played approx 19 games for us last season (1739 mins) and a few of them were at left back. Curcurella takes those minutes so if Chelsea offering big money then we could get someone in and make a profit. Could bite us on the arse, if long term injury to Laporte/Dias/Stones”

“I low-key wouldn’t be against using Mbete and Doyle for the 4th/5th option. At least until January then reassess. Can’t really blame Ake for wanting more minutes, it’s can’t be easy being a top player and 4th choice.”
