Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Brighton are discussing improved contract terms with Marc Cucurella.

City have made no secret of the fact they are still in the market for one more piece of incoming business with the long-running saga over Marc Cucurella ongoing.

The Spanish left-back has four years remaining on his current deal at Brighton but his future is under the scanner as top flight champions Manchester City have made him one of their priority targets this summer.

A move for the Spaniard seemed increasingly likely to happen just recently with Raheem Sterling being set to move away from the club.

But according to The Athletic, Brighton & Hove Albion are locked in talks with the agents of Marc Cucurella over an improved deal for the player.

As per the report, Conversations with the defender’s representatives are at a preliminary stage, with Cucurella still having four years remaining on his existing deal, signed only last summer.

The report states that Brighton were yet to receive a formal offer from City as of Friday despite the champions making Cucurella their ‘priority signing’. It is understood that the south coast outfit are seeking a fee of at least £50m.

It remains to be seen whether Manchester City will approach Brighton with an official bid for the Spaniard in the ongoing window.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
