Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Jack Grealish was instrumental in persuading Kalvin Phillips to join Pep Guardiola’s side.
The Leeds United midfielder is on the verge of completing a £42 million move from Elland Road to the Etihad Stadium.
Phillips returned from his summer holidays early this week, undergoing the necessary medical tests with Manchester City on Friday afternoon. An announcement from the Premier League champions is expected next week.
The signing of Phillips may be largely thanks to the words of persuasion from Jack Grealish according to Jeremy Cross of the Daily Star this week, which might just be the most significant thing he has done since joining Manchester City.
It has been revealed that Jack Grealish proved pivotal in convincing his fellow countryman to leave his boyhood team for the Premier League champions.
Grealish was ‘instrumental’ in persuading Kalvin Phillips to follow the footsteps he made last summer.
It is further highlighted that the duo have become close friends in recent times, to such an extent that Phillips is expected to join the same firm of football agents that looks after Grealish.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
