Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is ready to pay up to £60 million to sign Kalvin Phillips.

The 26-year-old England international has been links to the very top of the Premier League recently, with Manchester City showing strong interest in the midfielder as a replacement for departing Fernandinho.

City have identified a central midfielder as one of the positions they must address this summer and have already ruled out a move for West Ham’s £100m-rated Declan Rice.

Kalvin Phillips is reportedly admired by both Guardiola and City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain and plan to reach out to Leeds once England have completed this current round of Nations League games.

According to the latest information from The Daily Mail, Phillips is ready to leave Leeds this summer, and that Premier League champions City are willing to sign him for £60 million.

The Leeds midfielder will have a new agent soon after his agreement with Palm Sports Management expired last week, according to the report.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
